Graffiti

Graffiti has become in an important way to convey messages. The limitation to convey controversial messages to a big amount of people is the main reason which graffiti has become popular lately. I think Brazil's graffiti has a special social impact, because, artists really do their best to make their graffitis a real work of art and catch the eye of the people. Actually, Brazil's graffiti received a kind of institutional seal of approval when the Tate Modern put on a major exhibition of street art in 2008. The messages expressed in graffiti are about protesting the destruction of nature and  political climate and corruption in Brazil. With that art quality, it is imposible to ignore the messages, that is the reason  I think Brazil's graffiti has so important social impact..

Racism in Colombia

It is sad to see the percentage of racism in Colombia, we think we already got rid of it, but we are racism still lives among us, inside us. Little things maybe we do not consider sometimes like our hair. We spend too much time and money trying to look our hair less "black", less "bad". Only 2% of afro colombians have the opportunity to go to the university, that is disappointing. It is indispensable to show this reality to the people, everybody need to know what we really are, and what we really think about what we are. Only that way we can accept ourselves, we can feel proud about every single thing about us.

It is Bangkok's Mexican Gangsters an example of cultural appropriation?

Bangkok's Mexican Gangsters can be considered an example of cultural appropriation, the reasons we can doind it in the definition of "cultural appropriation".  Cultural appropriation is a term used to describe the process by which the style of a subculture is adopted by a big amount of the people, even if that people do not belong to that subculture. In the case of Bangkok's Mexican Gangters that was what happened.
They feel identity with that style, and they feel very good sharing between themselves their music, their tatoos, clothes and their way to enjoy the life. However, in contrast to the concept proposed in the book appropriation involves commercial gain, which is not the case of Mexicans, since they adopted this culture as a way of enjoyment.
I think cultural appropriation it is not wrong in all the cases. Bangkok's Mexican Gangster keep their jobs and they are not dysfunctional. conversely they use their subculture to relax and share things wich they feell identify with, and they are happy in their group of friends. Cultural appropiation is a way to express  how diverse is the being human, and that is one the the most beautifull things we have. Societies feed of that diversity and improve their customes and they become richer (better) every day.
